Royal Academy of Engineering Sciences

Just a personal thing: I've just been elected as a member of the Royal Academy of Engineering Sciences (Kungliga Ingenjörsvetenskapsakademin, IVA). IVA's describes its mission as "By initiating and stimulating contacts between experts from different disciplines and countries, the Academy promotes cross fertilisation between industry, academia, public administration and various interest groups." IVA has 819 members, and is organized in a number of divisions, one of which is "Samhällsbyggnad" (I guess "Planning and building" is a decent translation), and that (apparently) includes transport researchers. Looking at the list of members, I think this will be a fun opportunity to learn a lot - it looks like a lot of very experienced people...
