I'm the director of Centre for Transport Studies, a research centre at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm. The Centre is a cooperation bewteen KTH, VTI, WSP, Jönköping International Business School, SIKA, the Rail Adminstration, the Road Administration, Rikstrafiken and VINNOVA.
The home page of the centre can be found at http://www.kth.se/abe/centra/cts.
The vision of the centre is a fair, efficient and sustainable transport system. The purpose of the centre is to contribute to this goal by increasing the understanding and knowledge of the transport system, its users and the interactions between the transport system and society. This is pursued both in the long term, by basic research and methodology development, and in the short term, by using our acquired knowledge to create better decision support and wiser decisions.
Our goals are to make the centre an internationally recognised research environment; to contribute to a long-term increase of the competence level in the transport planning sector; increase the quality of decisions and decision support in the transport planning sector. In short, we want to be visible, relevant and brilliant.
